End of Month Update

At the beginning of the month I set myself a few targets with regards my writing and reading and I have to say that this month has been quite a success.  Ish.

I have managed to completely catch up with my studies, which was a big worry for me over Christmas.  Sickness and festivities put me three weeks behind, so my focus has been on catching up and keeping up.

I’ve still managed to keep up with my writing, though.  Ish.  I’ve written two Friday flashes – more than I’ve written in the last six months and I’ve turned my attention back to my WIP, albeit in a sporadic way.  I’m trying to come up with a way to keep momentum with my WIP while still doing everything else.  If anyone has any tips, let me know.

I’ve sort of kept up with my blog.  I’ve been better than I was at any rate, which is good enough for me.  I’ve also signed up for the A-Z Blogging Challenge again.  I had fun last year, so this April will see a blog a day again from me.

I’ve been submitting and getting rejections, but I do have a story included in the upcoming Wicked East Press book ‘Short Sips: Coffee House Fiction’.  It should be out sometime in March/April.  I’ll keep you posted.

I’m also going to be working on the next series of Choose Your Online Adventure featuring zombies.  Along with finishing this module and starting my next module. (They overlap by three weeks and I’ll be in Greece for one of those.  That’s going to be a fun month.)

I’ve been busy reading, too and have finished eight books so far, so am well on target for my 100 for the year.  I’ve not been reading quite as diversely as I would like though I haven’t doubled up on authors yet, though I’ve been tempted.  It does feel good to be reading lots again.

On a personal note,  I turn 30 next month.  Yikes.  It sounds so grown up and I’m so not.  I get a special birthday trip to Dublin, though so it’s not all bad.

So, there you have it.  Throw in some complaining about having had a cold and a few moans about my neighbours and you have my half of a phonecall to my mum.
